WTF----->OMG

So lets take a short trip back to memory lane.....From the first blog of WTF, like what am i doing going back to school, no friends, weird environment, bla bla bla...now its like OMG my first semester of grad school is done, where did the time go. I have made great friends, classes were great, i have an awesome job, and now i am ready for next semester. Bring it, thats all i have to say.

Ok so lets get to the pissed off part, the effin cold! WTF i leave a cold state with mountains to go to a colder state with no mountains....what the hell was i thinking! 10 degrees a couple days ago, this is re-god-damn-diclous. But its all good, i asked for thermal underwear for x mas.....

Thanks giving was well needed break. I went to Colorado to see my second family, i brought a friends with me, which was, made the road trip better and hes never been to CO before so it was good. It makes me miss the people even more. I went to comedy show, one guy sucked, he compered brown syndrome (black people) to people with down syndrome...so you know where stand on that..... But it was a great trip, well needed and i will be going back in Feb. for 2 weeks.

Well my friends it is time to hit the sack, have fun and good holidays :)

Long time no talk......

So after many complaints about being behind on my blog i found time to write in it. So here we go, over the past month has been fun. Classes are getting more fun b/c we as students in the class are getting more comfortable with each other. Social life is good but is lacking a bed time buddy, but not a big deal, classes and work keep me busy. On that note work is great, as a reminder, i work with a guy that has a TBI (traumatic brain injury). Real nice guy can be a smart ass every once in awhile, but thats what makes the job fun. Easy 40 hours a week. On the school note, all i can say is that i have a 4.0 GPA. I havnt had one since grad school!!!! I am able to join an honor society here on campus, its only $60, i figure it will be worth it, i can put it on a resume.

I picked up a new hobby, i crochet....Dont judge. I made 3 hats so far, i found i can knock out a hat in about a day. Not bad at all, i am addicted to it, i have a few hats on the waiting list for people. its fun and relaxing, plus while my guy i help take care is watching TV i usually do that or read.

Thanksgiving is coming up and i am excited!!! i am going to CO to see some camp friends, and i am bring a friend with me, since i am driving it will be nice to have a driving partner. Well that is it in a small portion of the past month. Until next time, stay black......

My ole Kentucky Home

Well ppl i had one of the best weekends ever last week. I was able to go to Bowling Green KY. I spent the best 4 1/2 years there when i was in college and it was time for me to go back. Some things have changed, like Waffle Houses have security at the door! WOW, apparently ppl get crazy around 2am. New bars, with dress codes, i wasnt allowed in one bar cause i was wearing baggy jeans, and one i had to take my buff of my head. But my old bar was still there and kickin it like usual every thursday night. I didnt have to show my ID and it was $5 all you can drink...wooohoooo! That night ended up me wearing a constuction hard hat and and jumping over two curbs in a truck (i wasnt driving) and getting a pizza that had to be turned sideways to get into the house.

The next day was started off at 10 am me drinking on my friends couch then going over to see my my friend from camp Devin. She is just a little ray of sunshine all the time.........

Meet up with one of my old room mates and great friend from high school. Meet some new ppl that night as well...it was a good night......

The next day spent at Octoberfest in nashville (oh my liver) which was uh-maze-ing! Then went out to the bars again, then meet up with some more friends then went to waffle house, then passed out on the couch.

Next day hung out with Devin again (she likes me, dont let her fool ya), i tried snuggling with her, but with her yelling Get off my bed, go away, your making uncomfortable ect.... it didnt work as well as i thought, there is always next time though :)

Meet my mom, had lunch with her, then started my trip back to louisville for my flight with Sara. I like her, we have great talks :) Now i am back in the real world of class and paying attention to my liver.

Oh before i forget, i did my egg drop in class, it worked out well i got an A, well at least i think i did, i am still trying to figure out what the teacher grades us on, since we dont have exams or papers. well any who, peace out ppl, you will be hearing from me again :)

Ugggg my body, and the past week....

So i want to start off how the week has been so far. It has been really well in the social part, i hosted a mini gathering last wednesday for fajitas, it was awesome. I had like 3 ppl come, not bad for just asking certain ppl in my night class like 10 mins before i thought of it. The next day, another friend hosted a pot luck dinner at her place. More ppl came, and i was able to socialize a lot more since it was a more relaxed place. I am getting phone numbers, and i was able to check off one of my "types of friends" from my list. I meet a girl who plays disc golf, and likes it as well, we played friday morning, it was fun. So i have a disc golf friend!!!!!

Saturday was homecoming so there was a lot of stuff going on with school, and greek life. Kristina called me and wanted to know if i wanted to go climbing with her and a friend in a gym. I couldnt pass up on that. But her friend and her are really good climbers, so i stuck with the easy stuff, but i did well for somebody who doesnt climb all the time. We did that for about 4 hours!! And boy is my body sore today, i had to get my roomy to open my coke b/c my hands were sore from grabbing the rock holds.

Woke up to the song banana pancakes by Jack Johnson, and i was like....hmmm those sound good, so i made them. And yes they were good.... On that note i have been doing a lot of cooking, like too much i think. I need to stop watching Food Network. I was watching emeril degrassi make a chicken curry, and i was like i want to try it but i want vegies instead of potatoes. Then i made another apple pie, then made biscuits and gravy (mine is better than paula dean's). Then i made potato wedges like tyler florence. it would be more fun if i had ppl to cook for, but my roomies dont seem to want it so i have tons of left overs, which isnt that bad.

Well wish me luck to keep checking ppl off on my friend list :)

What a great day!

So thursday started as the usual, get up at noon and wait for my study partner to call me and meet up with him. I was on time schedule today, i had a job interview with a 42 yr old brain injury victim. He seems like a real nice guy, and a smart ass. he just needs help getting around and to the gym. I basically got hired on the spot, he asked if i could start right away, i told him give me about 2 weeks, to get my school project done, and get my shit together. So that was good...

Then i went to a ExEd gathering, apparently its a tradition, it was so good! I meet a guy who is like me, really sexual and rude. He was a Jehovah's Witness, but he said he didnt like the whole idea of no drinking, no drugs, and no sex.... There was a girl there with the same personality as well, i am starting to like these ppl more everyday.

I was able to inroduce them to "rodrigo y gabriela", then they feel in love with them as much as i did. So far its looking up for puddin pop :)

Oh what a day......

So the day started off with a phone call at 12pm with a lady coming to my apt to do a urine and blood sample..... Yeah its for life insurance that my mom applied for, so i was aware of it, i just wasnt aware i wasnt allowed to eat before they did it. I have only been up for a hour, havnt started to eat yet, but i was contemplating breakfast or lunch. She was coming at 400pm soooooooo i was super hungry, when she was done i had a sand which then went to go play disc golf

It was Tuesday, so if you know me, you know i was at BW3s for their cheap wing night, after that i mozzy on over to the biker bar. They had another party going on for people with DD's. I happen to walk in on on them doing the cupid shuffle......it brought back memories :) i was going to join them but the song was over, sad day.

Once everybody left a few dumbasses came into the bar. A guy told the bartender she is autistic b/c she is really good at math. well she didnt understand what autism is, so the dumbass, happen to tell her what it is. He gave a real good and in-depth definition of it, he said its when your cross eyed and your really smart in one subject and dumb in everything else......

THANK GOD! I was soooo confused on what it was, now i know...I happen to correct him, then he busted out the rain man movie.....My bad i forgot rain man is a perfect definition of autism, i happen to correct him again, now he was just getting frustrated. He soon left, with his possy

Went to a bar which is right across the street from my place, its called Boom Town. Should be called Tool Town......Nothing but tools in the bar, some of you all might not know what a tool is, when you get a chance turn on Tool Academy on VH1, that is what a tool is, and that is what i saw all night. Well i am going to get off of here and play some raquet ball, peace out

Yo man where you at and apple pie.....

Sorry for the delay everybody on the blog, i am going to summarize the past few nights for ya. Lets start off by talking about Thursday night....I went to check out the night life in down town Mankato. The most common phrase i heard that night was "yo man where you at".... Guys where trying to find their mates and they did this by saying yo man where you at on the cell phone, as you are reading this you might not find it entertaining, but i guess you have to be there and pass 20 ppl in 10 min and this is all you will hear.

The whole friend outlook is looking better, we had a few ExEders over at my apt, we just watch TV, drank and ate apple pie that i made. Thats right everybody i made home made apple pie, crust and all. I was watching Bobby Flay on food network, and i saw him make it, and i was like FU bobby i can do it too. And i did, its all gone, so i guess i will have to make more :)

I also discoverd a new outlook in life, its not certain but its on the plate......i want to go into education and teach ExEd in a high school or teach in a school system that will let me teach in a collaborative learning style....but who knows i still got 2 years to go....

Oh before i forget, everybody who reads this look up "Rodrigo y Gabriela" they are a new muiscal dueo i discovered with the help of some friends, when they play music its like they are having sex with your ears.....

IAM RICH BIATCH!

So as my title of the blog says...i got my loan money! Finally i am not poor anymore, as an adult i did pay off some bills, then played with it. I went to the mall of america, if you didnt know they have an small theme park in the center of the mall, a hotel and casino, movie theater, and an under ground aquarium, oh and 400 stores. So yeah it was worth going, i also bought an IPOD, so i am up to date with the world now. First time owning an ipod, i am still tying to figure it out plus trying to understand Itunes. I did find out how to order a chipolte burrito over my ipod.....

I went to a EX Ed (short for my major) cookout, meet some more ppl, it was awesome, i made my famous cherry cheesecake, ppl said it was divine, i had none left over so i guess it turned out good. I was trying to spit game to some of the girls in the dept, but i didnt get the memo that most of the single girls in the dept are Mormon......but great ppl just cant get crazy with them.

By the end i went to Quereoke, which is Quers singing karaoke...now before you all yell at me, i didnt come up with this name, it was the gay guy in my dept who told me about it, and it was fun to watch ppl dress in drag and sing songs. Been a great weekend, and cant wait for class tomorrow! Peace out stay black

Over the past few days....

There has been a lot going on. Lets go back to thursday night, i went to my first MNSU college party. I went with Sara (room mate) and a couple of her friends. I normally would like to go to a bar, but with little money and nobody to go to a bar with, going to this party would be a good start to meet ppl.

After 10 mins of being at the first party, ppl started to leave, b/c there was a cop 3 blocks away. Some guy was telling to everybody to run inside the house, he looked at me and told me to get inside, i told him to chill the EFF out i am 26. Well everybody was leaving, b/c when your under 21 and there is a cop 3 blocks away busting another house its a sign to leave........

Went to another one like right across the street, was there longer but not as "happenin", but it was nice to talk to other ppl. I dressed to start convos (dont judge), i wore my hair down (b/c my luscious locks get a lot of attention) and i wore my toe shoes (vibram 5 fingers, look them up). It worked but they were under 21 and they were really drunk, so if i saw them again, they wouldnt know me.

Over the weekend i have been in this never ending battle with Plato, he usually wins. He is a lot smarter than me, but round 2 will take place tomorrow. It gets kinda lonely over the weekend b/c all the roomies go home every weekend, i am planning on having a cook out, thursday and get the roomies and their friends involved, none of them cook nor i think they dont know how. So this will be good.

When it comes to class, i need to do a hour to hour and half presentation on a teaching method of experiential education, i am doing project base learning. Not going to get too in-depth, but my partner and i are doing the egg drop....i know i know, its great! When it happens i will let you all know how it goes. Peace out

This is do weird....

I came the conclusion i am out of my element. Dont get me wrong, i love the grad program here, and i plan on finishing. I am talking about it from a social aspect. Here i thought i was a social butterfly, well i am but in a college town, when you dont know anybody is kinda hard. I use to go to bars and find a person to talk to but here not that simple. Also with there being an age difference with my roomies and looks like they have click since they are all high school friends, its kinda hard to join in. Thus the reson i am drinking a beer and wathcing "Return of the Living Dead" on a saturday night....lol. But its only the second week, just moving slower than i thought. I made a list of "what type of friends i need"

1. Hang out friend-i can go to there house anytime, watch TV eat their food and drink their beer and sleep on their couch with no questions asked
2. The Bar friend- somebody who will grab a beer with me in the middle of the day
3. The Disc golf friend- Do i need to explain this one....
4.The movie friend-i can call up and say lets go see a movie
5. Bed time buddy- once again do i need to explain this one......

So if i have these 5 friends my stay here in Mankato would be complete........

I made it!!!

Well its official, i made through my first week of class! I know i am going to love my Wednesday night class. We are learning exactly what i want to learn! i am not going to bore you with what it is, just take my word for it. Making friends is a slow but easy process, had lunch with a guy in one of the classes. He is also my partner for a presentation we are doing in a couple months. Came home, watch some TV with Sara(female roomie) then me and the other room mates decided to play some volleyball.

Last night went to the local biker bar, its the only bar i like going to, drinks are cheap and i can have convos without yelling over the music. There was a B-day party going on there for a lady, apparently herself and all her Friends have a DD (development disability). It was some kind of organization, one of the guys was sitting next to me, i was having the best time talking to him. I told him i was from Kentucky, and he said he loves ppl from Kentucky, then i asked him if he knew anybody from KY, he said i was the only one....... I also told him i worked in Florida, he was amazed by that, he asked if i saw lots of animals, like tigers, elephants, alligators, and dolphins. I said yes to the last to.....but no tigers or elephants in Florida. The bartender introduced me to the person in charge of this shindig and she gave me her card, so i might have a job sometime in the near future. And who says going to bars is a waste of time......

library.....

Went to the library to read my book for class next week and boy....plato is deep. Its not that long, its only 35pgs and its mainly an actual conversation between 2 ppl and a difference of opinion i have 100pg one due 2 weeks after, and its from another philosopher. As i was reading it shows me ppl back then were very intelligent and what they had to talk about was very random, we talk about about sex, music, favorite memories, and so on...Then they talked about virtues of ppl, to sum it up the main question is whether virtue can be defined, and with the question of whether virtue can be learned or taught. Is virtue the same as knowledge? WOW how come we dont have conversations like that?

The aftermath....

So class was.......AWESOME! Who wold have thunk that you need to read a lot in a graduate class.....I just have to read 2 books in weeks, no biggie. The class has awesome people in it, and there are no exams, just a lot of discussions and reading, then later on i have to give an hour long discussion on a subject and has to pertain to one of the 6 books that we have in class, should be busy but an experience i cant wait to do.... :)

Day IDK: Stuff......

Yesterday one of my things to do is get school supplies.....I feel like i am in middle school trying to find all my pens and paper whatever i need to be a good student :) One thing i bought is a planner, this yr i want to try to be a little more organized. I mean with 2 classes it shouldnt be that hard.......

When did book bags become so damn expensive , took me 4 hours to try to find one that was under $40 i was about tempted to buy the Jonus Brothers one......I am kinda picky, i like the ones with the single strap, took forever to find one under $40. Should have went with the spongebob one....

Found out last night i am missing one of m books, at first i thought i lost it, but apparently the book store didnt even have it on the inventory. So i didnt lose it, they just didnt put it in the box. The wednesday night though so i have time.

Which brings me to my other topic.....My frist grad class is tonight....da da da daaaaaaaa! I will fill you all in later tonight on the class. Peace out, keep it real, and stay black.......

Day 3: Disc, eagle, wings, beer, beer, and more beer.....

SO the day started off grand, played some disc golf had some good shots and then i saw my very first in the wild.......Bald freaking Eagle! I always see them in zoos with one wing bouncing around so it was nice to see one in a tree with both wings.

After a decent round of disc, went to BW3 for some food. Then i went walking around downtown checking out the bars. I think i found one bar that does not have the college party scene, it might be my new hang out place.

Came back home and there were like 10 ppl in the apt. Apparently there was a party going on. I didnt mind, it was actually fun to meet there friends, it was funny though every time somebody knocked on the door the ppl scattered like roaches in rooms. Being 26 has its advantages......

I taught the kids how to play Kings Cup, they thought it was the best game ever! I think living with young folk will be good, i can teach them new things, like better beer to drink (still a work in progress) and drinking games, this will help them become better ppl in life.........

Day 2: Books, rain, things that piss me off, roomies......

So the day started off with no sunshine...wooohooo! Still no sign of my room mates and today is the day i need to start putting things away and get food. Went to the campus with Riggs to get my books which was fun trying to wrestle my way through the freshman getting their ID cards, i was so happy wasn't them.

After books Riggs decided to tell me i need to get an ID card, i was like GD! For some reason i thought i didn't need one cause i am a Grad student, but apparently it doesn't matter. i didnt know why i felt weird being in line with them i just did. When i turned in my application for an ID card, the lady said i didn't look like a freshman...... i asked her if i look old she said no, i look distinguish...Good come back.


On the way back to my apt i was carrying my books and it decided to rain....EFFIN FANTASTIC!


I should mention that i set up my tent in the living room so it can dry fom when i stayed at a KOA (it makes senese later on in the day)

I went to wal mart and i did it without GPS, so i am getting better at this. In wally world, it was rough, i had to wait in line for ramen noodles! If you all didnt know i used to suffer from high blood pressure so i feel like i am going to suffer from it again since all i bought was easy mac ramen, and pizzas....lets just hope i find out in a different siuation. i also notice the inflantion of food, that piss me off, 89 cents pizza is now $1.25 so i had to put a few back sad day...and it was nice to see the iteam on the day on sale in the middle of the store was KY Jelly His and Her Pleasure.....

i felt like Jane Goodall oberserving monkeys while in line. People making out in line is a little weird it aggravtes me that they cant wait, i want to spray them with water. Hearing the young folk trying to find their hook up for beer tonight, and asking where the keg party is was amusing.

So after trying to fight the traffic in the parking lot, and sitting through a red light b/c another couple was making out in the car, i was ready to get home. i finally made it.

Within 20 mins this girl pops her head in my room, it happens to be one of my room mates. She was a little taken back with the tent in the main room. Also even better i share a bath room with her. I think she brought the entire collection of Bath and Body works with her......Then the guy came in after her. S i look at them talk they all know each other, even the guy that is not here is known. They all went to high school together, so this will be fun. The mom of the girl is judging me i think when she saw i was dinking a beer. She asked my age and when i said i was 26 she gave me a weird look...... I also found out my fear is freshman is ok....they are sophmores, so they have at least a yr underneath their belt. The best part is they brought everything with them, dishes pots, pans, knives, and gutiar hero world tour, which i dont have to buy with my loan money.

I already like the guy, he wore a Morehead St shirt just to break the ice with me, even though he has never been to Kentucky, the girl seems like a neat freak, taking bleach toweliets to everything in the house. But very nice, the other guy comes in tomorrow they said. So only time will tell. BTW i have toliet paper so no more using coupons.........

Day 1: Going back school(WTF)

So its been about 4 yrs since I have been in school, so i decided to go back for my masters in experiential education in Minnesota St. University in Mankato. For you all who don't know what experiential education, it is learning-by-doing, then reflecting on one's own experiences. I still want to work with camps in the future and i want to apply this philosophy and method to the staff and campers.

So anyway to the good stuff after a long journey (12 hours) from camp i came to Minnesota. I was able to make check into my apts. The apts i live are for college students, when i was waiting in line i saw i was the only without my parents, still in my PJs, and the only one who looks like they are over 21! So i was thinking what the hell am i doing....... I made to my room, which is nice i will post pics later. Trying to find my way in this town is hard, i got lost about 3 times. I am trying to refrain from my GPS so i know what the hell i am doing later on. Went to wal mart to get a shower curtain, sheets, and an Ethernet cable and power cord for my lab top it was like freshman yr all over again! Long lines, everybody wearing their school shirt OMG....i wanted to cry. i just left with those items and went back home.

But don't worry everybody, there is a BW3s here, so that's a plus i went there for my usual 18 wings and a couple of beers, after that it was all good. Hung out with a friend, (my only friend so far here) then went home.

When night came i realized i forgot toilet paper......I was not a happy person, it was late so i made use of the coupon book.......on that note Day 1 of Puddin Pop is done.
